Sennheiser introduces the MKE 2, to solve your GoPro audio issues
Video’s best friend is without a doubt audio and this microphone will be the best friend you’ve ever had and that’s why the new Sennheiser MKE 2 is bound to get GoPro owners excited.
GoPro has made it possible for extreme sports athletes or even avid adventure seekers to capture their footage on a user friendly and durable video camera. The only problem is that it’s rather challenging to get a top-notch sound recording from a microphone when conditions are extreme.
Many international DJ/producers also travel with GOPros these days and sound quality can be hit and miss.
Sennheiser’s MKE 2 Element Microphone will lend you its ears.
The MKE 2 microphone is a valuable extension of the Hero 4 as it slides into the camera’s case and connects to the USB micro input.
Mic-woah-phone!
Cozied up in an urchin-like protective cover, the microphone lays protected from the elements. This spongey protective layer acts as a windscreen, dust protector and is water repellent.
The microphone itself is a tiny nodule connected to a shock mount which reduces any friction or movement-related noise greatly.
Magnetic Magazine got to test it out and literally put it through all the elements and the sound captured was crystal clear no matter the weather.
What makes this microphone so great is that it is compact. This means that travelling with it as a DJ will hardly impact on your overall packing and weight and since it is rugged and designed for extreme sports enthusiasts you can bet it’ll survive any festival or club night.
The MKE 2 microphone was a collaborative effort between GoPro and Sennheiser and shows how teamwork can lead to the best work.
The MKE 2 Elements Microphone for GoPro HERO4 cameras is available from April 24, 2017.
Expect to pay: $199
