Give your sounds the delay they deserve – Melda MSpectralDelay
Melda MSpectralDelay is in a league of its own, it’s the first delay to be based on spectral processing.
The core concept behind Melda’s new plugin is the ability to process delays over a variety of frequency bands. Different parameters such as feedback, time, panning and more can be applied at different values for different areas in the frequency spectrum. Melda MSpectralDelay allows you to split your signal into up to six frequency bands, with adjustable parameters per band or a variety of built-in spectral transformations such as pitch, frequency shift and formants amongst others.
The idea is complex, but the slick interface and easy-to-understand parameters make it amazingly intuitive. Melda MSpectralDelay claims to have the “most advanced user interface on the market” its styleable, resizable and offers GPU acceleration to power it’s unique visualization engine. The plugin even offers two separate layouts, and “easy” mode for beginners and “edit screen” for the professionals.
Melda MSpectralDelay has a variety of handy features, such as the ability to lock particular parameters so they will remain unchanged while flipping through presets, Melda have incorporated a “smart randomization” feature, allowing you to create truly unique effects at the click of a button.
Say what? It’s free??
Melda MSpectralDelay is on promotion until the 3rd of June 2018, sign up at the Melda website and your license will appear in your account. One thing to keep in mind is the nature of spectral processing combined with the unique visual aspects of the plugin will be taxing on your CPU performance, but the plugin even offers various ways to even the load, by offering the ability to adjust oversampling between 1x to 16x.
That being said, it’s a truly unique plugin and it’s free (for limited time) so definitely check it out!
