Rumours new Macbook Pro could drop in price
According to Forbes there is a rumour of a price drop for the new MacBook Pro.
With the looming Apple WWDC 2017 from June 5-9 2017 there is a buzz surrounding the new products and services that will be announced.
For music producers and digital DJs Apple Mac has always been a favourite and it seems things could get better.
They are expected to use the new Kaby Lake processor which is set to provide ample horsepower for power-hungry applications and workflows, but also comes at a more competitive price.
The Kaby Lake processor can already be found in most new high-end laptops running Windows 10 and predictions are that this new Intel chip will dominate the professional laptop space this year.
This could be the ideal ‘weapon’ for music makers and producers the world over.
Regarding the rest of the specs there is no indication whether Apple will drop the headphone jack.
There is, however rumours of 32GB RAM being standard as well as USB-C ports on all units.
More bang, less buck?
The most noteworthy rumour is that Apple will be dropping the price of the new MacBook Pro.
A price drop for a better model is great news for those who haven’t recently invested in a new Macbook but for those who did, they could feel a little cheated.
As well as missing out on the better model, users trying to sell old models will struggle to sell at a competitive price too.
Currently a top-of-the-range Macbook Pro costs around R 50,000 in South Africa, a small fortune to spend on a single computer.
If you can, hold out buying until this new model comes out, thanks to the Kaby Lake processor it could be well worth the wait.
Please note that although these rumours have merit, they are still just rumours.
We will have to wait until the Apple WWDC 2017 in June to find out if these rumours are 100% true.
It is also worth noting that local authorized Apple dealers seem to all be running mega sales on products – whether this is related to the imminent WWDC 2017 announcements or if it’s just due to the slowed down economy, we are not sure.
We will wait in anticipation.
The new MacBook Pro could literally offer more bang for less bucks and for music producers and DJs this can only be good news.
