M-Audio BX D3 Range updated with new BX5 and BX8
The M-Audio BX D3 series of affordable studio monitors has just got a shot in the arm with the addition of two more loudspeakers added to the range.
These are the BX5 D3 and the BX8 D3 which are naturally 5 and 8 inch woofer models as denoted by the model name.
The new additions in the M-Audio BX D3 series sport Kevlar woofers and silk dome tweeters, a flared bass port, multiple connectivity options and are driven by bi-amps internally.
Said Director of Engineering, David Gill, had this to say about the new additions to the M-Audio BX D3 range;
“These new BX-D3 monitors really raise the bar for acoustic performance, connectivity and their ability to adjust to any acoustic environment.
“In order to achieve such a high level of performance, we painstakingly addressed every single aspect of monitor design, from the drivers to the amplifiers to the enclosures and the final voicing itself. Here are the specifications for the new M-Audio BX D3 additions. They should be available by spring time in South Africa and suggestions of retail price are:
BX5 D3 – $149 per speaker (R 2,499 each)
BX8 – D3 – $249 per speaker (R 3,995 each)

- 25” natural silk dome tweeter delivers superb transient details
- Computer-optimised tweeter waveguide for precise imaging
- Acoustic Space Control to fine-tune low-end response to your room
- Optimised rear port for extended low-frequency response
- XLR balanced and 1/4” balanced/unbalanced inputs for connecting audio interfaces, mixers, synthesizers DJ gear, and more
