LANDR gets your music onto Beatport & all the streaming platforms
In a bold effort to remove the middle-man, LANDR endeavours to put the artists in control of their online revenue.
For many aspiring producers and artists, landing a track on an online store like Beatport represents the pinnacle of your entry into the music scene.
The bad news is that it is often a very convoluted process, with many hurdles to jump – from labels to third-party distribution agents. After years of refining your artform and putting it out to the world, the number of steps in the process end up creating a large amount of diminishing returns.
LANDR has created an interactive environment which gives the artist the ability to distribute directly to online stores like Beatport, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Amazon Music. This makes the process of getting your music out into the world hassle-free and allows you to create revenue through sales and streaming services.
The entire system is automated, meaning it’s fast and always accessible, which is especially handy for us here in South Africa because we don’t have to wait through time-zones for responses.
I’m not a fan of the instant mastering system, but there’s still a reason to sign up with LANDR…
LANDR first made headlines when introducing their online “Instant Mastering” services, which allows users to upload their final track mixdowns to the cloud. The website’s code analyses your track and applies relevant mastering processes, and finally allows you to download the final mastered track.
I, personally, am from the school of music creators who prefer to spend a bit extra and give the process it’s due time. I would rather send my finished tracks to someone with ears that I trust, who I know will invest a good amount of time in creating the best end-result possible.
However, in today’s demanding world, LANDR represents a need for a service. You may have a gig later today, and you’ve just finished your latest track.
LANDR has you covered, for those who are not too keen on the instant mastering, they offer a “Release only plan” that starts at USD$1/month.
