Kronos LS workstation announced by Korg
The Kronos LS workstation was officially announced by Korg and for $3499.99 it could be yours.
That’s R 46K before even considering import duties although it has to be said that South African distributors, Tuerk Music always push very hard for competitive prices locally.
So, what does one get for R 50K in a workstation these days?
It goes without saying that the Kronos 88 and 71 key synths are remarkable instruments with exceptionally powerful features.

What is different with the newly announced Kronos LS though is that it is a leaner, lighter version of the 88 and 71 key variants.
The lowdown
The Kronos LS boasts a new Light-Touch keyboard, nine sound engines which are highly versatile; you can use 16 effects at the same time and create up to 16 part combinations.
In fact the Kronos LS packs the same power as the standard Kronos 2, it’s just way lighter thanks to the new keyboard which they say has been redesigned to allow for better velocity, no matter how complex the chord or phrase is.
Kronos LS also ships with the most recent operating system, offering new Quick Layer/Split via the large, colour Touchscreen. Splits and Layers can also be saved on the spot into a Combination, saving players considerable editing time and providing more flexibility for live situations.
