KORG Gadget turns your Nintendo Switch into a music workstation
KORG Gadget, the award-winning software is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Expanded from the iPad version, it offers hands on control.
KORG Gadget is an incredibly intuitive music production workstation, housing 16 unique synthesizers, drum machines and samplers alongside a DAW style arrangement and mixer view. The system is designed for touch-screen devices, which gives users the ability to make complex edits on MIDI patterns and samples on-the-fly.
The Gadget system has a global scale setting per project, this allows you to display only the keys in the correct scale per track. This is great for guys like myself who aren’t too familiar with a multitude of scales, but it also adds much needed screen space.
Its most intriguing feature is by far it’s intuitive workflow; users can lay down a solid backbone within minutes. Along with its small form factor, this makes it the perfect travel companion for busy creatives.
Gadget’s introduction to the Nintendo Switch creates an affordable entry point for music creators who want to get into the world of KORG Gadget, but who don’t have the budget to fork out for an iPad.
Multiplayer music creation? Collab bro?
The Nintendo Switch version of Gadget introduces some unique new features; it allows up to four devices to connect together for a unique collaborative experience.
The Nintendo Joy-Con controllers can be used to modulate effects and parameters either wireless using movement or vibration or snapped onto the device for hands-on control. The Joy-Con also allows you to convert hand movements into notes in the scale and much more.
Gadget on the Nintendo Switch would definitely add that extra flair to any live performance, and the ability to connect the HDMI to a screen or projector could give your audience a unique first-person view of the show.
The Switch can also be docked alongside your TV for an at-home “studio” experience.
KORG Gadget will be available on the Nintendo eStore from March 2018
