Kilohearts Phase Plant – the next generation hybrid synth plugin
Kilohearts Phase Plant is a new synth plugin with a huge amount of creative sound design capabilities.
Kilohearts first took the plugin market by storm when it released the award-winning Multipass plugin, a modular multi-band host for a variety of interesting effects. The Kilohearts Multipass system introduced “Snapins”, that work like plugins or can be used to create unique effects racks within any Kilohearts host.
Introducing Phase Plant, bringing Kilohearts’ world of Snapins modules to a synthesis engine. Phase Plant is an advanced hybrid instrument, the generators are built on wavetable, virtual analog, sampling technology and more.
The interesting feature in Phase Plant is that it’s completely modular, and built around three main sections within a very intuitive UI. The generator section is most of your signal-generation tasks like oscillators, you can drag your generators around to change the routing and there’s various effects like distortion and filters. The modulation section allows for infinite amount of LFOs, envelopes and random generators.
FM From A to Z…
The routing and modulation capabilities within Phase Plant are insane, even within the generator section you have the ability to route any signal within the patch to modulate various parameters at audio-rate. There is an advanced wavetable editor built in for creating your own wavetables from scratch or editing existing ones, and the plugin can be vastly expanded by adding more Snapin plugins as you need them.
Phase Plant has an advanced effects section consisting of two Voice FX layers and a Post FX, which use Kilohearts’ Snapins plugin, so if you already own Multipass you can use all of your existing Snapins directly inside Phase Plant. Another really cool feature is that the Snapin plugins also work entirely standalone, so if you need a simple filter or trancegate effects, no need for any extra plugins.
