Impact Soundworks Cosmos – Kontakt sounds inspired by outer space
Impact Soundworks Cosmos is a brand-new multi-sample based Kontakt instrument inspired by the deep and atmospheric sounds of outer space.
Impact Soundworks Cosmos excels for creating cinematic ambiences and phrases, specifically for the sci-fi genre alongside electronic and ambient music. The core of the plugin is built around a library of over six gigs of samples, with a unique engine built specifically for Impact Soundworks Cosmos.
Users who are familiar with Impact Soundworks’ previous instruments will recognize the “phrases” section, this allows you to quickly and easily create complex sequences, arpeggios and gates at the click of a button. The phrases section hosts its own browser, allowing you to choose from over 250 preset ready-made phrases to instantly add movement to your sound. You also have the ability to change phrases using Kontakt “Keyswitch” system.
Impact Soundworks Cosmos features a variety of digital and analog modelled effects, filters and flexible routing options of these, to add flare to your sound. The step sequencer in Cosmos has the ability to modulate various pre-decided parameters, from pitch and volume to filter settings.
What are the requirements for Cosmos?
Impact Soundworks Cosmos’ library features synthesizer recordings created by film composer David St Hill, and further scripted into an easy-to-use and “playable” instrument by the Impact Soundworks team.
Impact Soundworks Cosmos requires the full version of Kontakt 5.5 or later to work, it won’t function with the free Kontakt Player due to some more advanced features in the instrument. The developers also recommend at least 4GB of RAM and 7GB of free disk space.
The plugin goes for USD $49 (around R700) however keep in mind, if you don’t already own the full-version of Native Instrument’s Kontakt, you will need to budget for that as well – that goes for USD $399 (around R 6,000) …
