The new Hybrid HM04 DJ mixer is well-priced and feature-packed!
South African based Viva Afrika release their first ever DJ Mixer, the Hybrid HM04 and it is super affordable and feature-packed!
The Hybrid HM04 packs in six channels in total – four Line/Phono/USB channels and two microphone channels, each of the channels equipped with the standard 3-band DJ style EQ capable of -26dB to +12dB attenuation. Hybrid’s new DJ Mixer is equipped with a USB audio interface for those laptop DJs, and it’s even able to record signal back to the PC.
The Hybrid HM04 DJ mixer features an integrated DSP multi-effects processor, able to capture signal from any of the input channels. The panel features an LCD which has an integrated BPM counter, alongside a stereo 10-segment LED VU meter to monitor your mix levels, but let’s be honest how many DJs are doing this? Just kidding!
Furthermore, the Hybrid HM04 DJ mixer is equipped with balanced main outputs and a second set of unbalanced outputs, suitable for booth monitors or recording your mix to an external recorder.
Where does the new Hybrid DJ mixer fit in?
Keep in mind, this is not a high-end Pioneer or Denon mixer, and in fact the Hybrid HM04 poses itself in a totally different category.
Something that’s got all the features that most modern DJs need and yet won’t break the bank for the beginners who are just starting out. The layout of the Hybrid HM04 actually somewhat resembles the Pioneer DJM series, so that would be an obvious progression once you start hitting the big leagues!
All-in-all, I’m impressed by the sheer load of features packed into the new Hybrid DJ mixer, I don’t think there are any other competitors on the market at such an affordable price point. It’s set to retail at just under R 5,000, however I know that there are some introductory specials being offered on the new mixer. –
