Google Pixel 2 collaborates with Boiler Room for AI music experiment
The Google Pixel 2, along with the larger Pixel 2XL was released widely last week.
Along with Google’s second instalment phone came updates such as edge-to-edge screens, squeezing the phone to active Assistant, AR stickers and an improved camera.
The phone has received radiant reviews, with Google on a mission to lead the way towards augmented reality en mass.
It has a new AI adventure playground dubbed the “Sci-Fi Super Mall” whereby Pixel 2 users can explore AI features including the Google Assistant and smart Google Lens Camera, allowing users to physically interact with Pixel 2’s features.
The Pixel 2 is the next level in terms of the term “smart phone,” with their new project linking us to the universal love-music.
Google + Boiler Room= AI music experiment
Google Pixel 2 has revealed collaboration with the online underground music streaming platform, Boiler Room.
They have created Pixel Records, a fictitious record label that aims to blend AI and music.
How it works is: Users upload sound snippets, which are then fused into an algorithmically-made musical piece.
The fruit of your labour are then sent back to you, and is even viable to becoming part of the music orchestra piece, due for release at a later stage.
Soon, AI will be creating all our music for us, producing will become obsolete. Although, I’m not sure that AI will be able to bring true emotion to the art of music, something that us humans still have over technology- for now.
It will be interesting to see what other developments Google brings forth for Pixel 2 and AI .
You can experiment with Pixel Records here.
The Google Pixel 2 is not available in SA yet, so we will see if we can even get in on this action!
