Try out the Google AI Duet pianist and fine tune your piano playing
The Google AI duet allows you to create music with an artificial intelligence pianist.
It’s like giving you a partner to create music with but it won’t by default make you a better producer or musician.
Google AI duet was created by musician and computer scientist Yotam Man in collaboration with the Creative Lab and Magenta, Google’s open-source computational music and art project.
The Google AI duet processes the keys you are playing and then copies it. This technology is part of an ongoing push from the Creative Lab Division at Google that is geared towards helping you familiarize yourself with AI and the way it can display human behaviour.
This technology is impressive in the way that it can create art. A collection of music focused AI tools were released last year, but now AI Duet in particular has been made available to you, the public.
How it works:
AI Duet works by taking the notes you play using your computer’s keyboard and running it through a neural network that has been trained using machine learning with scores of examples. The neural net then looks for melodic and rhythmic patterns it can identify. Because it understands concepts like timing and staying in key from a hard data perspective, it’s able to then generate its very own organic melodies that are meant to sound like your notes.

It’s exciting and makes you feel like you are living in the future. They want everyday Google users to become acquainted with Google AI duet and other AI software, play around with it and offer feedback on how it can all be improved. They also hope to help independent developers and musicians create new experiences using powerful AI learning software.
