The first rekordbox dj controllers were announced hot on the heels of the big news that Pioneer DJ will release their own proprietary DJ software next month and these 2 units are the DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX.
DDJ RZ
The DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX will be packaged with rekordbox dj and will deliver native control of the software. In other words as rekordbox dj controllers these two units will offer seamless control between hardware and software.
Using these rekordbox dj controllers you can prepare your tracks in rekordbox and then enjoy plug-and-play performance with the software, direct from your laptop.
The DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RX mirror the layout of the software precisely to enable intuitive creative performances. New to these controllers are the beat parameter buttons, Sampler Cue mode and Sequencer mode, which lets DJs record, play and loop pad routines on the fly.
The top-flight DDJ-RZ shares all the features of the DDJ-RX, but adds a club-quality magnetic crossfader, large jog wheels inherited from the top-flight CDJ-2000NXS, an OSC Sampler and two USB sound cards.
The two new rekordbox dj controllers will be available from October 2015.
The suggested retail prices are €2,099 (R 32,400) for the DDJ-RZ and €1,049 (R 16,185) for the DDJ-RX which is pretty hefty by anybody’s standards with the dismal exchange rate.
Both controllers come bundled with the rekordbox dj Plus Pack, which will cost R 2,200 to buy on its own.
