Eye Conductor – produce music with facial movements
The headline may sound like a gimmick but Eye Conductor is anything but that.
Eye Conductor is a new music app that has been developed to enable users to do music production by tracking eye movements and facial gestures to create your beats.
This new app is an awesome way for those with physical disabilities to be able to make music without the use of their hands. All you need is the Eye Conductor app and a webcam and one can transform one’s eye and facial movements into drum beats and musical notes.
Thins one can do with Eye Conductor include playing any instrument, build beats, sequencing melodies or triggering musical effects. According to lead developer Andreas Refsgaard, the system is open so it is designed for inclusion and can be customised to fit the physical abilities of whoever is using it.
How Eye Conductor Works
Eye Conductor translates eye gaze into musical notes or beats in a drum sequencer. Raising your eyebrows can be used to transpose all played notes up one full octave while opening your mouth can add a delay, reverb or filter effect to the instrument being played. Thresholds for facial gestures can be adjusted and saved to fit the unique abilities of different users.

The developers of this app should be awarded some sort of Nobel prize – music can be such a lifesaving venture for disabled folk to explore creativity despite their disabilities.
