Erica Synths Techno System – Complete modular with Techno in mind
The Erica Synths Techno System is dubbed “the ultimate tool for rhythm-based music production, live performance and sound design”.
A quick look through Erica Synths Techno System makes it clear that the core focus is on creating hard hitting rhythms, the rack features almost everything that you need for analog drum synthesis and a few modules to compliment, altogether creating a full performance station capable of everything from Techno to Industrial sounds. One of the key features of the Erica Synths Techno System is that the entire Trigger and Accent system is internally patched from the included sequencer – allowing you to focus on the audio signal and inject some modulation where you need. This makes it much easier to dive in and get going straight away.
The Drum orientated modules are as follows: Bass Drum, Snare Drum (909 inspired!), Toms, Clap, Hi-hats, Cymbals and the Drum Sequencer which features 16 trigger outputs, 12 accent outputs a CV and Gate track (For sequencing Bass and Leads) and two internal LFO.
The Erica Synths Techno System also features their recently released Bassline module, which is a 3340 inspired analogue synth voice capable of putting out hard-hitting acid Bass and Lead sounds.
Internal modulation and effects?
At the heart of the modulation section of the Erica Synths Techno System is Modulator. It’s a dual syncable LFO/Noise generator which varying waveshapes. It can react to CV inputs, so together with the Erica Synths Techno System’s sequencer, you potentially have the ability to create a huge amount of automatable modulations.
In terms of effects, the Erica Synths Techno System has two dedicated effects modules, first up is Dual Drive which features two independent circuits, so you can run it in stereo or process two separate lines. It’s a similar concept with the Dual FX module, which features two internal effects processors with eight algorithms and the ability to save and recall settings.
The mixer section of the Erica Synths Techno System features three unique mixers, Drum Mixer is the compact 7-channel mixer with an internal compressor and aux sends. Mixer Lite is a watered down 6-channel version of the aforementioned mixer with control over compression through internal trim-pots (set-it and forget-it). Then you have the Stereo Mixer, which is the final step before the Link module, which converts the high-level signal from the Erica Synths Techno System into a line level for your mixer or DAW.
The Erica Synths Techno System is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination, however it is an incredibly versatile instrument, probably the most capable all-in-one Techno orientated/analog music production and synthesis system ever made. It retails for EUR €3690 (Over R60k excl. duties), time to start saving! It also comes mounted in a solid carry case, with an attachable lid (ready for the road) and optional backpack and strap.
