Dubler Studio Kit turns your voice into a MIDI controller
The Dubler Studio Kit breaks the boundaries between musical knowledge and being able to create and perform music.
The Dubler Studio Kit combines a dedicated USB microphone which has been specifically designed for low-latency and low-noise performance. The microphone connects directly the Dubler Studio Kit’s standalone desktop software. The software works on Mac and PC, and it’s compatible with general MIDI – meaning any DAW that supports MIDI will support the Dubler Studio Kit.
The Dubler Studio Kit works in two distinct ways, you can either use it in “synth” mode – which tracks the key of your voice and send MIDI notes according to your voice. There are various parameters to lock the key or snap it to a particular scale, like Autotuning a synth. In “triggering” mode, the system learns the sound of different vocal gestures and translates those to MIDI triggers. Beatboxers could use this to translate their beats into authentic drum samples to use or layer over the original beatbox sound.
There’s almost no limits to the creative uses of this system…
The Dubler Studio Kit is not limited to work with voice, due to the fact that you train how the trigger system works, you could potentially tap on your desk or stomp your foot to create new beats. You’re also not limited to using the system with triggers and MIDI notes, you can use it to change effects or any MIDI compatible parameters within your DAW.
46 minutes after launching their Kickstarter campaign, The Dubler Studio Kit reached their goal of USD $52k, and since then the campaign has moved on to double the original goal.
The system is set to retail at USD $395 (Around R5700 excl. duties), however if you back the campaign with around USD $475 (Around R7k excl. duties), you can get two Dubler Studio Kit systems when they launch.
