Djay Pro compatible with all Pioneer DDJ Controllers
The latest version of djay Pro 1.2 is now compatible with all Pioneer DDJ Controllers say the software developers, Algoriddim.
The Mac software will now run seamlessly with the entire range of DDJ controllers which includes the DDJ-SB, DDJ-SR, DDJ-SX, DDJ-SX2 and DDJ-SZ with full native support. djay Pro is also fully compatible with Pioneer DJ CDJ-2000nexus, CDJ-900nexus, and XDJ-1000 media players.
The Pioneer DDJ range is not the only newly supported hardware by the new djay Pro 1.2 version however.
The best-selling Numark Mixtrack 3 and Mixtrack Pro 3 as well the Numark N4 are all also supported in djay Pro 1.2.
djay Pro 1.2 also boasts a new touchpad multi-touch feature. This means you could actually use a laptop with touchscreen capabilities to control the software by simply swiping with your hand.
“A range of two finger gestures work with the majority of on-screen controls such as mixer, tempo faders, filter, EQ, FX, offering the opportunity for greater accuracy, tactile feel, and artistic expression. In addition to the existing scratch gesture, it’s now possible to spin forward and back with a simple two finger circular motion, closely emulating forward and backward cueing on a turntable. The same gesture control can be applied to the overview waveform, which now becomes a strip search feature, as well as the FX pad which is seamlessly mapped onto the dimensions of the trackpad.”
Whilst the touchpad features are novel and no doubt will be a popular new feature, the jury is still out on just how practical touchscreens are in a sweaty club environment.
But for small parties and private events it sounds super cool.
Remember that djay Pro integrates seamlessly with Spotify so for subscribers of this service you can make use of your entire Spotify music library for mixing too.
