Watch DJ Rasp DMC Champ rip it up on XDJ-1000 & djay Pro
DJ Rasp was IDA UK champion twice and also DMC UK champ in 2009. He continues to compete and regularly makes the finals.
Algoriddim have taken a leaf out of Native Instruments’ Traktor promo videos and commissioned DJ Rasp to rip up the decks to show off the Pioneer DJ XDJ-1000 and DDJ-SP1 in action as well as Algoriddim’s dj Pro.
Although turntablism is not as popular as regular DJing is, it seems to be the turntablists that these tech companies like turning to for their promo videos and also to endorse.
It does makes sense since it’s probably the most effective way to properly demonstrate the gear.
This DJ Rasp video does just that; it shows off the best side of both the software and hardware.
The message Algoriddim want to get across is of course how seamlessly djay Pro integrates with the Pioneer Dj gear. The CDJ-2000nexus, CDJ-900nexus, and XDJ-1000 are all 100% compatible with dj Pro now so by simply plugging your laptop into the USB, you will be able to use any of these three media players as both your midi controllers to control the decks as well as for audio via the soundcards in these devices.
The main thing to realise is that aside from the easy, uncomplicated connectivity – how long does it take to simply plug in 2 USB cables – there appears to be zero latency when DJ Rasp rips it up in the video below.
The advantage for dj Pro users is that you have access to all your Spotify and iTunes playlists which will display directly on the CDJ’s and XDJ’s screens.
