New Serato DJ Pro update adds Denon DJ Prime integration
The new Serato DJ Pro update brings native compatibility to Denon DJ Prime 4 and SC5000 Prime media players.
The latest Serato DJ Pro 2.3.1 update makes full use of the touchscreens on the Denon DJ Prime 4 and SC5000 Prime series media players.
The display features two modes to choose from, either a library plus two decks mode (similar to the Traktor layout) and extended library mode, for more in-depth browsing. You have access to your Serato crates, tracklists with full control over all of these from the hardware itself.
The layout of the Denon DJ Prime 4’s effects section mirrors the effects in the Serato DJ Pro software, making it easy to learn for those who are well-versed in Serato already.
The performance pads are already mapped to function exactly as is in the software, and the loop controls also function as you would expect.
The Denon DJ SC5000 and SC5000M media players feature a layer setting, allowing you to use a single hardware unit to control two software decks simultaneously, allowing you to mix with a single deck or mix four-channels with two hardware decks.
Full Serato DVS compatibility…
The latest Serato DJ Pro 2.3.1 update also adds full DVS functionality to the Denon DJ Prime 4, you will need the timecode vinyl or a pair of SC5000 or SC5000M media players and the extra Serato DVS license to get that working.
So, one thing to note about the latest update, the Denon DJ Prime 4 received “full implementation”, that means it unlocks the use of Serato software.
The Denon DJ SC5000 and SC5000M just received compatibility updates, meaning they don’t actually unlock the use of the Serato software – more like accessories to add to an existing Serato setup.
