DJ Conversion Utility now converts to & from all 4 major DJ apps
Four years after the DJ Conversion Utility was first released, DJCU has now become the market leader for conversion tools between music libraries.
It’s main strength?
The ability to convert selected playlists instead of complete collections only.
During this period, the DJ Conversion Utility added support for the major four DJ software platforms to be used as a source for conversion.
Today’s release of DJCU 4.5 closes the circle of converting back and forth between all of these four platforms.
Conversion from Rekordbox.xml to Virtual DJ
Converting Virtual DJ to Rekordbox was already part of DJCU.
With the advent of Virtual DJ ‘s unique real-time stem separation, VDJ is drawing many DJs that are/were using other DJ software.
Using DJCU 4.5 lets you easily convert tracks to VDJ, complete with cues, loops, grids and other DJ metadata. Not sure if VDJ is right for you? Use DJCU with the free trial version of VDJ.
Conversion from Rekordbox.xml to Serato
Conversion to Serato has been part of the DJ Conversion Utility for quite some time.
Previous versions of DJCU re-created the converted playlists in iTunes/Music.app.
These iTunes playlists can be accessed from DJ software, including Serato.
DJCU 4.5 converts directly to Serato’s native crate structure.
The conversion to iTunes/Music remains a part of DJCU, but is now optional if Serato is the conversion target.
DJCU 4.5 has several user experience improvements, the most notable is drag ‘n’ drop support when selecting a source XML file.
Rekordbox.xml source doesn’t mean limited to Rekordbox 5 as source
The Rekordbox.xml used as source for the conversion in DJCU can originate from various base collections:
- Rekordbox 5 collection exported as XML
- Rekordbox 6 collection converted to XML with our 6toX tool, which is bundled with DJCU and all other ATGR Rekordbox related tools
- Rekordbox(DJCU).xml created by DJCU converting from a base collection in Serato, Traktor or VDJ
- Rekordbox(DeXT).xml, created by the Denon eXtractor Tool (DeXT) converting a Prime performance drive, which can be a Prime 4 internal drive. DeXT is part of the Denon Conversion Utility (DeCU) distribution
