Devious Machines Pitch Monster is an all-in-one pitch processor
Devious Machines Pitch Monster is an all-new advanced pitch correction, tuning and creative vocal effects processor.
Devious Machines Pitch Monster is an incredibly versatile processing tool, capable of everything from subtle pitch correction and autotuning of vocals to extreme pitch shifting, chord and unison effects.
Pretty much all DAWs have pitch-shifting capabilities, so what’s the big deal?
Most traditional pitch-shifting is done using granular techniques, meaning shifting the pitch often results in a very audible difference in the sound.
I’m sure we all know the “chipmunk” effect you get when speeding up or shifting the pitch of a vocal sample. Pitch Monster features three unique processing engines – Granular, Formant and Vocode.
Granular offers the more traditional pitch shift effect, while formant offers much less audible “resizing” effect when shifting the pitch – with an extra control over the formant size for creative effects.
The Vocode mode features everything you need to create those classic Daft Punk-style robotic vocal sounds.
The on-screen keyboard allows you to select the exact notes you want to apply to the vocal sound, there are eight chord memory slots to switch between, or enable MIDI mode to send MIDI notes directly to the vocoder.
Built-in effects…
Pitch Monster also incorporates a unison effect, capable of reproducing up to voices. When combined with the eight voices of harmonization, you have a total of up to 64 voices. There are independent Jitter and Spread controls to shift each of the voices apart in pitch and time for a more humanized result. The plugin even features a nifty visual reference of your unison voices, around the dial in the centre of the GUI.
The plugin features a dual high and low-pass filter section and selectable “wide” mode for extra variation.
Devious Machines Pitch Monster is set to retail at USD $105 (Around R1600), however they‘re currently running a launch promotion for USD $79 (Around R1200).
