The Denon MCX8000 v2.0 firmware is here and compatible with Prime
Denon MCX8000 v2.0 firmware unveiled and integrated into the latest update to Denon’s highly-acclaimed Engine Prime 2.1 software.
Denon MCX8000 users will be thrilled to hear that Denon have integrated their award-winning standalone DJ system into their Engine Prime software system. The new firmware and integration bring a host of new features to the Denon MCX8000, both in terms of file management and browsing to more advanced hardware configuration settings.
Denon’s Engine Prime software now has the ability to export collections for use on the Denon MCX8000, while retaining any metadata and playlist settings you have created. The latest firmware update adds BPM filtering and sorting to make browsing on the Denon MCX8000 much quicker and easier. They’ve also added the ability to change the beat-grid on-the-fly, and using the utility menu you have the ability to change the grid quantize settings to fine-tune exactly how your beat’s align.
The Denon MCX8000s advanced utility menu also sees the addition of USB and Microphone attenuation settings, alongside advanced talk-over settings, sync-mode for tempo or beat-syncing, and the size of the beat quantizing.
What’s new in the Engine Prime v2.1 software update?
Alongside the release of the Denon MCX8000 v2.0 firmware comes the update to Denon’s Engine Prime software which adds the functionality for the MCX8000 with some other new features. The Engine Prime v2.1 update adds the ability to drag-and-drop playlists and crates anywhere within your collection, along with the ability to freely arrange playlists within the browser. They’re not ground-breaking features; however its clear Denon is working to make user experience within their flagship software a breeze.
The Denon MCX8000 v2.0 firmware update is available for free download to MCX8000 owners, and Engine Prime is also a free download – however you need Denon gear to get it working.
