Denon DJ Prime Serato Controller Mode now available
Denon DJ Prime Serato Controller Mode is now available for the Prime 4 and SC5000M.
Denon DJ are constantly adding new features and updates to their flagship series, the latest addition being direct control over the Serato DJ Pro software.
The new Serato Controller Mode now available adds full control over Serato DJ Pro’s performance pads, advanced browsing and loading functions directly from the Denon’s touchscreen.
They’ve also greatly expanded the Serato FX capabilities with the Prime 4 and SC5000M, now you’ve got in-depth control over all three FX engines, with parameter display on the hardware screens.
The new update also increases the resolution of the jog-wheels on the SC5000M, the jogwheels now deliver 3600 MIDI ticks per single rotation, while the Prime 4 gets updated to include DVS compatibility – if you have the Club Kit. Both units get static waveform overviews and the ability to control multiple software decks from a single hardware deck.
Taking a stab at Pioneer…
Along with the new Prime 4 and SC5000M updates, Denon DJ is taking a cheeky stab at the new Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000SRT.
There’s a comparison chart going around comparing all the updated features of the Denon DJ Prime 4 compared with the DDJ-1000SRT (slightly cheaper than the Denon) and the Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX2 (around the same price as the Denon) – and the Prime 4 comes out on top in all aspects.
One of the biggest requests that DDJ-1000SRT users have been posting is expanded control over the Serato FX – so this might just be a deal-breaker in the latest Denon updates.
The original SC5000 actually featured full Serato compatibility, so it’s just been a matter of time for these to be introduced to the Prime 4 and SC5000M.
