Denon DJ integrates Timecode software into SC5000 setup
Denon DJ have teamed up with world-renowned staging company, BLCKBOOK, to take a giant leap into the world of visuals with the integration of the Timecode software, using their StageLinQ protocol.
Timecode is an ingenious piece of software that grants the Front-of-House team an insight into everything that’s happening inside the DJ booth. It allows for the synchronisation of visuals, lights and other effects, all on the fly.
Timecode gives the user visual representation of the music in the form of a waveform, similar to how we see it in DJing software or on the screen of the Denon DJ or Pioneer media players
It also relays all the metadata such as track names, BPM and other useful information. This gives the visual effects team the ability to plan incredible fully-synchronised light shows and other visual elements such as smoke machines and confetti cannons.
Timecode allows DJ’s to focus on what they’re good at, performing the music.
Thanks to the system, touring DJ’s no longer have to meticulously stick to a pre-planned set, they are now awarded the freedom to go with the flow, knowing that the Front-of-House team can plan accordingly.
Live performers and producers – you can also benefit from this system!
Timecode offers three different packages in the current line-up.
“Timecode View” being the most entry-level package – offering DJ’s and VJ’s all the visual aspects of the timecode system.
“Timecode Sync”, the intermediate package, is designed for touring DJ’s live artists and visual effects teams. It offers the visual aspects along with a host of sync capabilities and on top of that, integrates with the Ableton Link System.
“Timecode Live” is the fully-featured multichannel package, designed for big staging companies and visual effects teams.
The system integrates with some of the later models from both Pioneer and Denon DJ SC5000, which means the staging companies don’t have to go out and buy a whole new rig of compatible equipment.
You can only imagine the possibilities of what this level of synchronisation can add to your touring rig.
