DDJ-RZX is Pioneer DJ’s new flagship controller
The DDJ-RZX is the brand new flagship DJ controller in the Pioneer DJ range and it has just been announced.
The DDJ-RZX is not only packed with all the bells and whistles one would expect on the leader of the pack, this new DJ controller is also designed to take full advantage of the new rekordbox video Plus Pack which in itself has the potential to take your DJing to another level with full video control as well as the music.
About the DDJ-RZX
The DDJ-RZX is a 4-channel professional Dj controller which inherits its DNA from the CDJ-2000NXS2 multiplayer and DJM mixer series.
Large jogwheels, multicoloured Performance Pads and high quality sound are all promised. Features include three 7-inch touch screens, two XLR combo input jacks for distortion-free Mic output, Mic EQ and FX, and an extensive FX unit.
Video Plus Pack for rekordbox
The new Video Plus Pack is an optional add-on that you can buy for rekordbox and while it is compatible with all the DDJ controllers, the new DDJ-RZX with the 3 screens is designed to maximise the new feature.
You can use it to manage video and image files in rekordbox, then play and mix them live as if they were audio tracks. The software lets you add text to videos and create image slideshows on the fly, and you can use the Camera FX to show the live feed from a digital camera connected to your computer. Video and images are sent to a monitor or projector from your computer’s video output.
The DDJ-RZX is available from July at an SRP of €2,999 including VAT. In South Africa we estimate this to be around R 55,000. Ouch!
The controller comes bundled with licence keys for rekordbox dj, rekordbox dvs and rekordbox video (worth a total of €409 including VAT).

- Install the rekordbox music management application (version 4.2 onwards). Download it here for free (available from 1st July 2016).
- Buy a rekordbox dj Plus Pack licence key here for €139 (if you don’t own one already) and install the Plus Pack.
- Buy a rekordbox video Plus Pack licence key here for €159.
