Beatport Link announce offline locker for Pioneer DJ Rekordbox
Beatport Link is the world’s first streaming service tailor-made for DJs, and it’s coming to Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox platform.
Beatport announced the big leap towards subscription-based DJing services recently in the launch of its tailored platform, Beatport Link. Well, they have just teamed up with DJ industry giant’s Pioneer DJ to introduce the Beatport Link streaming service to Pioneer DJ’s Rekordbox platform.
There have been some concerns around online streaming platforms regarding internet connection among others, however the new Beatport Link integration comes in the form of an “Offline Locker” allowing you to store a collection of tracks offline to perform anywhere.
The new Beatport Link and Pioneer DJ Rekordbox integration comes in two forms depending on the size of offline locker that you need. Beat port Link Pro users have access to an offline locker for 50 tracks while Beatport Link Pro+ users have access to a locker for 100 offline tracks.
Audio quality?
“At present, most DJs can’t easily stream music directly into a club set-up. With our offline locker technology, laptop DJs can now store tracks offline to play without worrying about Wi-Fi. This game changing technology will give DJs a huge selection of new tracks they can confidently take to gigs to combine with their download collections.” said Robb McDaniels, Beatport CEO, “We’re excited to work with Pioneer DJ on this next evolution, and you can expect further integrations throughout 2019,”
They’ve announced that the offline tracks will be higher quality than 320kbps MP3, however they haven’t given us the exact details – it’s still good news. Both Link Pro and Link Pro+ are available to try out for free on a 30-day trial, otherwise the subscription service pricing is as follows:
- Link Pro goes for USD $39.99 (Around R570) per month
- Link Pro+ goes for USD $59.99 (Around R850) per month
