Audient Nero is a compact, console-grade monitor controller
The new Audient Nero is built on over 20 years of analog console experience, designed for the modern studio setup.
At first glance the Audient Nero may look rather simple, however don’t be fooled – it’s an incredibly powerful and versatile workhorse designed to be the centrepiece of both professional and home studios alike. The system is fully programmable, allowing you to configure exactly how you want it to work. You can easily assign inputs to outputs by holding down the relevant buttons on the front-panel, then simply save your configuration by holding down any two output buttons.
The Audient Nero has four headphone outputs, the first one is dedicated to replicate the “Control Room” output while the other three are also assignable to any of the inputs or the talkback section. There’s a mute and user-defined dim function right below the main volume control, and you can even choose whether they function in latch or hold mode. There are three sets of monitor outputs on the Nero, each with their own individual subwoofer control – all customizable and easy to save and recall.
Precision Matched Stereo…
A large amount of budget monitor controllers either colour your sound drastically or alter the stereo image, especially when monitoring at a variety of levels. The Audient Nero has been specifically designed to maintain precise stereo imaging and zero deviation between your stereo channels.
Keep in mind the Audient Nero is designed for the higher-end of the market, it may seem pricey for what it is – however for discerning listeners, those small deviations in stereo image could make your break a mix. Audient is known for their high-end consoles, and they’ve incorporated a lot of what goes into the monitoring sections in their flagship consoles into the Nero. Its set to retail at USD $499 (Around R7200 excl. duties).
