New in the Arturia Pigments 2 update
Arturia Pigments 2 is here – Introducing a new Sampler with granular capabilities, new effects, a revamped sequencer and various improvements.
One of the biggest new additions to Arturia Pigments 2 plugin synthesizer is a new granular engine, however, it’s not just a granular module, it’s a full-on sampler module with Granular synthesis capabilities.
The sampler offers various traditional sampler editing capabilities with various different playback modes, including the new Granular mode. The sampler comes with a ton of included material and features six slots to load samples into.
The Granular mode features several parameters for shaping your sound in unique ways, such as density, envelope, size and many randomisation parameters as well – all of which is accessible from Pigments’ vast modulation system.
Arturia also introduces a new filter mode in Pigments 2, it’s based on the Low-Pass Gate circuit in the incredibly sought-after Buchla Easel semi-modular synthesizer.
The unique thing about this new mode is it can behave as a VCA, a Filter or both at the same time insane flexibility. It can also get modulated from various sources including the matrix and AM or FM sources.
New Sequencer and effects…
Arturia Pigments 2 also introduces a revamped sequencer, with an all-new non-destructive random mode, that instead of overwriting the sequencer data it just adds some deviation to the programmed material – great for fills and variations.
They’ve also added a new Tape Echo effect based on Arturia’s highly-renowned Delay Tape-201 effect. It features a built-in saturation, free-running or synced delay time, and an added stereo width parameter. The latest update also packs in various interface and workflow improvements, an undo/redo function, MPE capabilities, enhanced Unison features, improved modulation meter bar, and a ton of new presets to show off some of the new capabilities.
