Arturia Drumbrute Impact – Much more than a smaller Drumbrute!
The Arturia Drumbrute Impact has just been launched and it sports some unique new features and bold aesthetics.
The first thing that caught my eye on the new Arturia Drumbrute Impact is the addition of a new FM Drum voice. The new voice has parameters to control the FM amount alongside pitch mod amount and decay, and a further “carrier” pitch control and output level. This adds a whole new world of drum synthesis possibilities, everything from natural sounding drums to abstract tones.
The Arturia Drumbrute Impact is super affordable and versatile; it is packed into a compact form-factor which makes it a great live performance companion or the perfect entry into the world of drum machines.
The French electronics manufacturers were certainly thinking ahead when designing the new Arturia Drumbrute Impact, it’s a perfect companion for existing Drumbrute owners while offering some exciting new features and its own unique tone. The two units can easily be synced together by either MIDI or their internal clock signals.
A more colorful sound than the previous Drumbrute…
The new Arturia Drumbrute Impact sees the introduction of the “Color Mode”, allowing you to alter the tone of each instrument channel individually – with each channel having its own specific color style. The new Color Mode has the ability to be modulated by the step sequencer to create loads of variation. The new Brute family member has had its master filter swapped out in favour of a new Master Distortion circuit, further putting the Impact in its own unique category.
All-in-all the Arturia Drumbrute Impact features a very familiar workflow to its predecessor and most of the Brute family, if you’re a current Drumbrute owner looking to add a few more channels to your setup – incorporating this guy into your rig will be easy.
Retail on the Arturia Drumbrute Impact is set at USD $349 (Around R excl. duties) – that’s pretty unbelievable for an analog drum machine of this nature!
