Arturia AudioFuse 8 Pre – an affordable premium interface
The Arturia AudioFuse 8 Pre is out, and it has all the specs of a premium audio interface without the premium price-tag.
One of the key aspects of the Arturia AudioFuse 8 Pre is the ability to daisy chain multiple interfaces together, it features dual ADAT inputs and outputs so it can function as a master or slave device.
The interface has the ability to transfer up to a total of 16 channels of multi-track audio. All of the sample-rate and wordclock settings are available on the front-panel, rather than hidden inside a software application – this makes it easy to configure in large hardware studios.
The unit itself features eight preamps, the first two feature insert send/return connectors allowing you to connect hardware processors in-line with the preamp, before the AD converter.
All of the audio connectors are high-quality Amphenol connectors, it features a ring-locking power connector and it comes with all the necessary hardware you need to rack-mount or desk-mount your interface.
Who is the Arturia AudioFuse 8 Pre most suited for?
The AudioFuse 8 Pre boasts pristine audio quality and a huge amount of dynamic range, the preamps have a large range of gain and each channel has a selectable 48v phantom power switch.
This makes it a great solution for almost any multitrack recording applications, from condenser and dynamic to vintage ribbon microphones.
The feature-set and expandability make it a fantastic option for live recording, and it comes bundled with the Arturia AudioFuse Creative Suite – a collection of some of Arturia’s popular software plugins.
The control software is incredibly intuitive, it has a very similar layout to a mixer or DAW and allows you a huge amount of customizability.
The Arturia AudioFuse 8 Pre is set to retail at USD $799 (Around R11 800 excl. duties), for more information check out the Arturia website here.
