Apple to launch new iMac Pro musicians are sure to love.
4 years later we are seeing the resurrection of the iMac Pro.
The 2017 model will be launched in December and is sure to be worth the wait.
At their WWDC developer conference held Monday June 5, Apple announced that it will be the “most powerful computer” it’s ever built.
Well with 4 years of development time I would certainly hope so!
Apple has finally listened to the plights of their users, making this new iMac with the thought of musicians, 3D animators, video editors and software developers.
I’m talking about a 18-core processor housed inside a 27-inch Retina 5K display, all the way!
An Apple a day…
After erroneously removing USB ports from last year’s MacBook Pro, they have rectified this in the new iMac by housing 4 USB ports as well as 4 Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports. Compensation if I ever saw so!
In terms of ‘musicianship’ it can surely become the center piece of your studio.
It will be able to run massive sessions of Logic Pro X if optimized for this machine.
You will be able to access a monstrous sample library, tons of effect plugins, hundreds of tracks without batting an eye.
Assuming the new Mac OS High Sierra is optimized for musicians and producers there won’t be an issue tracking as many tracks in real time as your interface has inputs.
For the cherry on top it has banging speakers built-in and runs cool.
It runs cool but certainly not cheap, setting you back $4999 USD to start.
The iMac pro will be available from December, 2017.
