Akai Pro announce massive updates for MPC Live, X and Akai Force
Akai Pro have been hard at work developing the latest firmware updates for MPC Live, MPC X and Akai Force.
One of the biggest introductions that Akai Pro have introduced in their latest round of firmware updates is project compatibility with Ableton Live for both the MPC 2.6 and Force 3.0.3 patches.
Now all of the MPC Live, MPC X and Akai Force systems can export project as .ALS format directly from the units themselves. Load up your projects quickly and easily in Ableton for fine-tuning or final mixdown.
You have the ability to export as either MIDI or audio files and the choice to include or bypass effects within the project.
Akai Pro have also introduced sub-mixes into the MPC Live, MPC X and Akai Force operating systems, now you can easily group tracks together, apply insert and send effects and more.
More specific to the MPC Live and MPC X – the latest firmware update sees the introduction of automation of any parameters within the step sequencer. You can either draw in your automation using the touchscreen or use the Q-Link controls to dial in exact values.
Major workflow enhancements…
The new firmware updates introduce a variety of new UI updates and workflow improvements from categorizing effects to the ability to quantize all your tracks with a single command.
More specific to the Akai Force 3.0.3 firmware update, you can now save individual clips as audio within your projects, they’ve revamped the matrix mode and implemented the ability to copy/paste and duplicate clips easily and best of all – they’ve added the ability to apply scales to quantize incoming MIDI from an external keyboard or controller.
The new firmware also adds the ability to use the Akai Force as an audio interface while in “Computer Mode”.
