AIAIAI TMA-2 HD has all interchangeable parts
The new AIAIAI TMA-2 HD is here – with all interchangeable parts, including Bluetooth headband and various speaker and earpad options.
The original TMA-2 headphones were incredibly popular as they offered a modular approach to headphones, almost every component was interchangeable and the series offered various options for each, allowing users to build their ideal pair of headphones from top-to-bottom.
The all-new AIAIAI TMA-2 HD takes that concept to the next level, introducing several new components to the range alongside a new preset option which includes the new components.
One of the biggest new additions is the H05 Bluetooth headband which of course adds wireless convenience to the already very popular headphones.
This isn’t something I would use for professional applications, but having the option to use them in analog mode makes it a great choice compared to buying a separate pair of headphones for mobile listening.
The S05 are newly-designed speaker units, with a new bio-cellulose diaphragm which is specifically designed with audio fidelity in mind. AIAIAI also introduced new E08 earpads, they’re premium earpads made from memory-foam with an Alcantara finish – made to be comfortable for long hours.
Why is this such a cool concept?
For owners of the previous range of AIAIAI TMA-2s, you don’t need to buy an entirely new pair of headphones. Due to the modular nature of the TMA-2 system, you only need to upgrade the components you want to.
If you want better sound – upgrade the speaker unit, if you want Wireless headphones – just upgrade the headband. It’s also great for down-the-line when you may break one of the components, you can just get that replaced.
“the foundational belief of AIAIAI is that life is rarely static; therefore, headphones should be able to adapt whether a listener is at home, in the office or on the go—over time.” said AIAIAI in a press release
For a complete AIAIAI TMA-2 HD Wireless set, you’re looking at USD $350 (Around R5150 excl. duties) and the wired version will set you back USD $295 (Around R4400 excl. duties).
