Novation’s AFX Station is a Bass Station with an Aphex Twin twist
Novation announced the AFX Station, an all-new, limited edition of their modern classic Bass Station II monosynth.
It’s a Bass Station with a twist though it is designed in collaboration with electronic music legend Richard D James aka Aphex Twin.
This is a sound designer’s dream.
It has the same powerful features as Bass Station II, plus AFX Mode pre-installed and dedicated labels for engaging and interacting with it.
AFX Mode turns every key on the instrument into a new patch, making AFX Station a powerful analogue drum module, a flexible sound design tool, or a killer bass or lead machine.
It also ships with 128 new synth patches and seven new overlay banks from Noyze Lab, Perplex On, Richard Devine, r beny and Lightbath.
With striking purple reveals, the famous ‘A’ insignia, and custom giftbox designed by long-time Aphex Twin collaborator Weirdcore, AFX Station is an instant collector’s item.

Bass Station II was released in 2013, and has been a go-to monosynth for music and sound artists on stage and in the studio ever since. Bass Station II features two oscillators, a multimode filter, amp and filter modulation, step sequencing and an arpeggiator.
It is loved for its simplicity, ease of control and — last but certainly not least — its immense sound.
