Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes – make beats with your feet, look good too
The Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes not only look good, they sound pretty rad too!
Yes you did read correctly! The Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes actually play sounds.
Roland and Adidas are two iconic brands so this custom concept/prototype for Mi Adidas by Neely & Daughters seems like a perfect match for those producers who really like wearing their hearts on their sleeve… erm make that their feet J
But more than just looking cool, you’ll be able to whip out a mean beat on your Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes too.
The actual name of the shoes is Mi Adidas TR-808 (Disturbing the Peace).
Here’s the snag though. Although everybody’s been getting excited about these Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes they’re just a prototype and are not for sale yet.
Here’s what Neely & Daughters had to say;
When given the opportunity to develop our custom concept/prototype for Mi Adidas, we popped and locked at the chance to create the TR-808 — inspired by the famous Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer, break dance culture, and “808” (police code for “disturbing the peace.”)
Not only do these kicks look fierce, but brace yourself: They actually. make. beats. The shoes are equipped with volume control and six different pre-programmed settings so you can recreate your favorite scenes from Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo in your mom and dad’s kitchen on a broke down cardboard box from Costco.
WHAT WE DID
WHY IT MATTERED
Though they never hit the production line (the “Just for Kicks” creative challenge – pun intended – was custom design and prototype only), the shoes won accolades and fans around the globe.
Anyway it’s a super cool concept and judging by the way the internet blew up by the news, there’d be a long list of customers waiting to get their hands on the Mi Adidas TR-808 (Disturbing the Peace) kicks.
Anyway you can listen to the Adidas Roland TR-808 Shoes here. We’d be happy for a non-playing pair too. They’re just so cool!!
