Ableton Loop – Berlin Music Summit
Ableton Loop is a three day music summit in Berlin and will take place from October 30 until November 1.
Ableton Loop is described by the music software company as three days of ‘performances, talks, and interactive workshops aimed at exchanging ideas at the cutting edge of music, creativity, and technology’ which they say will bring together ‘music makers: artists, technologists, educators, and creative thinkers.’
Sounds super rad for Ableton users and will no doubt give attendees some valuable insight into the future of electronic music production and the latest techniques being used and discovered.
For users not able to attend Ableton Loop (most South Africans for starters…) you should check out this book called Making Music – 74 Creative Strategies for Electronic Music Producers. Whilst applicable across any DAW platform, the book is based on the Ableton platform.
Who, what, where
Programs to be featured include;
- Creativity in the Engineer’s Chair with Young Guru
- Creative Blocks and Strategies for Overcoming Them with James Holden
- Loops and Repetition in Electronic Music with Henrik Schwarz
Ableton Loop will also feature a vast range of influential and knowledgeable speakers such as TeamSupreme, Mathew Herbert, Holly Herndon, Daniel Miller of Mute Records, Dot, and Peter Kirn (author of Create Digital Music).
They’re expecting the Ableton Loop summit to be pretty popular and have therefore implemented a lottery system to attend. They only have space for 400 attendees and winners will be announced on August 14 who can then reserve their slots by purchasing a ticket. General passes cost 250 Euros, but if you’re between 18 and 25 years old, the good news…. you can buy an Ableton Loop summit for 100 Euros.
