In a nutshell Yamaha’s Reface is the tech giants answer to Korg’s Volca Series and Roland’s Aira series – affordable, portable instruments for the masses. We’re very interested to see what the pricing is going to be like.
For the mobile music producer on the move or just for the project studio at home, Yamaha’s Reface instruments could just be the way to put some authentic musicality into your productions without spending an arm and a leg to do so.
Future Music magazine attended the UK launch of Yamaha’s Reface keyboard and also had a chance to ‘mess around’ with them to get an idea of the authenticity of their sounds and ease of use.
It’s not a full blown review, but the videos definitely give one an idea of the capabilities of Yamaha’s Reface range.
It’s enough for us to get excited and wait anxiously to try them out when they arrive in South Africa which we’re told should be late August, early September.
Mobile instruments are big business nowadays and for live performances Yamaha’s Reface range could also end up on the tech riders for electronic artists who perform with laptops, especially the Reface DX and CS.
