Reason 8 Video on Workflow, New Guitar and Bass Amps
Reason 8 is now available for purchase or you can upgrade from your earlier version if you own a registered copy. We may have sounded a little underwhelmed in our preview that the biggest new feature in Reason 8 appears to be the ability to drag and drop, thus improving one’s workflow considerably. Admittedly on reflection this new feature will have a far greater impact than we initially implied as you will see in the in Reason 8 video on workflow below. The second video show’s off their new amps.
We’ve just received our NFR version and will be tackling a full review on the new Reason 8 over the next week or so.
This first Reason 8 video deals with the new drag and drop workflow whilst the second show’s off Reason 8’s guitar and bass amps that Propellerhead are very, very excited about.
Reason 8 Video – Dragging and Dropping
This first Reason 8 Video shows exactly what Propellerhead have done to improve one’s workflow with the new version and it’s all about ‘drag and drop. The entire library browsing module has been brought to the fore and can now be found on the left of the GUI – and aside from the obvious similarity to Ableton’s placement of their library browser (also down the left side) – the functionality is also very similar in that one can drag instruments and effects to the rack, patches to instruments and even instruments and patches to the sequencer. One can also drag audio direct to the sequencer. As you will see in the video it is about more than just drag and drop with a huge emphasis being on finding suitable sounds quickly.
Reason 8 Video – New Guitar and Bass Amps
The drag and drop and library enhancements may not be as awe inspiring as a new synth or FX unit but it actually makes everything way faster to work and certainly encourages one to experiment with sounds quick and easily.
The new guitar and bass amps are in fact a big enhancement for all those making music that requires conventional and ‘true’ sounding instruments. Reason has been on the path for sometime to be more than just a dance music making platform and these new amps certainly take that goal even further. You will be surprised just how many producers create music for advertising and television, video etc using Reason simply because you have such a wide array of authentic sounding instruments available for this.
This Reason 8 video will give you an idea of the extent of the new amps in terms of modeling and sound canvasses available.
