When it comes to Numark DJ Controllers, they have the entry-level market very well covered. Their brand new Party Mix is an awesome new unit for budding bedroom DJs who want to learn the basics of the craft. They’ve event included disco lights on the front to add some extra vibe when practicing.

- Good layout
- Super portable
- Has all the basic features
- Built in soundcard
- Built in disco lights
Cons:
- Disco lights may be seen as a novelty

Numark Mixtrack Pro3
Expect to pay: R 4,939
The Mixtrack Pro 3 is the most popular of all the Numark DJ controllers since it was first introduced. Known to give you the best bang for your buck, the Mixtrack Pro 3 is the best no-frills workhorse in the range and has an excellent feature set, the most significant one being the 100mm pitch control sliders which ensure more accurate mixing.

Numark Mixtrack Platinum
Expect to pay: R 5,500
The Mixtrack Pro has been a top seller in the Numark DJ controllers range for years. The Mixtrack Platinum is a slight upgrade from the Pro. There are two main new features that make it a choice for us ahead of the Pro; the Mixtrack Platinum has high resolution LCD multi-function displays on each jogwheel and it also has 4-deck capability.

Numark NVII

Whilst the Party Mix and the Mixtrack Numark DJ controllers are all fantastic offerings for R 5k and under, the NVII is the best of the bunch in the mid market pro range. The NS7III is the flagship in the Numark DJ controllers range. This machine is a beast, simple as that. It’s also massive and is best suited to turntablists who perform with MCs in a very professional setup.
