Numark 2016 Product Range revealed

The Numark 2016 new products catalogue sports some great new gear from the American tech giant including the massive new NS7III and the versatile Mixdeck Express.

But it’s some of their other gear such as the Dashboard and N-Wave 580L that has also piqued our interest.

NS7III

What is it?

Numark’s flagship 4-channel Serato DJ controller with every conceivable pro feature and quality component to match.

The money shot

Without doubt the 3 high resolution screens is the biggest attraction as it is unique to the NS7III. Serato users will love the stacked waveforms displayed on the centre screen for visual mixing and the fact that all critical deck info can now be viewed on the individual displays much like using a set of CDJs.

Who would use it?

This is an upmarket, professional DJ controller and is direct competition to the Pioneer DDJ-RZ although the Pioneer lacks onboard screens and will cost an extra R 8,000.

Professional DJs looking for the genuine vinyl experience, whilst benefitting from the world of digital will like the NS7III and professional mobile DJs who do a lot of corporate functions, weddings etc will definitely opt for this top-of-the-range controller.

Mixdeck Express

What is it?

The Mixdeck Express could be called the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of DJ controller such is the flexibility of this controller. Not only is it a laptop DJ controller it also features two CD decks and dual USB ports for playing off flash drives, all done via the fully-integrated three-channel mixer. The built-in screens display the same song info one would expect on a standard CDJ and sports professional XLR master outs.

The mere fact the at the Mixdeck Express caters for every conceivable way to play music back in a Dj environment, other than actual turntables, is the reason why you would want to buy this controller.

Who would use it?

The Mixdeck Express is the perfect unit for DJs still flirting with the idea of moving from their trusty CD collection to laptop or USB flash drives since you are able to perform of any of these formats, even in one set.

This is also a really good option for mobile DJs since it has such flexible playback options and professional features.

Dashboard

What is it?

The Dashboard is an official Serato DJ accessory that is compatible with dozens of control solutions on the market today so it can be used with other controllers other than Numark. Dashboard is designed to place in front of your controller so that you do not have to keep turning your head to look at your laptop. All deck and browser display info from Serato can now be viewed the same way one would do on CDJs.

The fact that Dashboard is compatible with any Serato DJ or Serato DVS system means it’s the ideal add-on to take your existing controller setup into the 21^st century with full onboard screen display.

Who would use it?

Any DJ using an existing Serato DJ controller and also DJ using the Serato DVS system as the Dashboard sits perfectly in front of your turntables and mixer.

TT250USB

What is it?

The TT250USB is a professional direct drive DJ turntable with a quartz-controlled high torque motor.

The money shot

The money shot has to be the USB connectivity which means you can convert analog records into digital files direct to computer.

But the S-shaped tonearm with anti-skating, damped cuing and high-torque direct drive motor and accurate tempo control are what really sells this very well priced turntable.

Who would use it?

Vinyl DJs and scratch turntablists are the obvious contenders to use the TT250USB but for the price it’s a great deck to buy for home use if you have a big record collection; especially if you fancy converting all the records to digital files at some stage.

Red Wave Carbon

What is it?

The Red Wave Carbon are professional DJ headphones sporting carbon fibre build and 50mm drivers.

The money shot

The detachable cable means you can easily replace the cable when it wears out. The Red Wave Carbon also has a swivel design for flexible monitoring.

Who would use it?

DJs looking for a higher than standard (40mm) driver with a sound that packs enough bass in your face without breaking the bank.

N-Wave 580L

What is it?

The N-Wave 580L are powered desktop DJ monitors ideal for getting those mixes down with some phat bass and crispy tops. The 5 inch woofer and 1 inch silk domes tweeter delivers up to 80 watts of dynamic power.

The money shot

Amplification is housed in one of the two cabinets so you only need one AC connection and the size is compact enough despite the big 5” woofers.

Who would use it?

DJs who need decent sound to blast out their mixes at home but are not yet ready to invest in more costly nearfield studio monitors should consider the N-Wave 580L.

WS100

What is it?

The Numark WS100 is a digital wireless microphone system sporting a foam protected case, and 24-bit sound quality.

The money shot

The WS-100 has a range of over 60 metres and the connection is sustained by an independent digital ID to avoid crosstalk or interference.

Who would use it?

Mobile DJs will love this cost-effective mobile solution for guests to use for speeches.
