SAE launches Music Business Fundamentals Short Course
SAE Institute in Cape Town has just launched a new 8 week short course called Music Business Fundamentals.
The course will commence on 3 October and runs two nights per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Facilitated by Damian Malgas, who lectures 2nd year music degree students in Music Business and Legal Studies at SAE, the course promised to be an extensive overview of what revenue streams exist in the music biz and how best to utilize them.
He says, “This course however will touch on a little bit of everything from marketing to promotion to legal and performances, so this will certainly be a good starting point.”
Who should attend?
If you are an independent label owner, an artist manager, event promoter or an independent artist who wants to understand how best to generate revenue from his/her music, this Music Business Fundamentals short course is a MUST.
Damian elaborates, “Once you understand what everyone does and how they can help you and know how to you get your music into the ears of the people who would want to hear your music, the job is 80% complete.
This course is about generating an overall understanding of the industry.”
Today most music creatives are independent. The days of being signed to a massive label and simply kicking back and producing music are long gone.
If you understand how and where you can create revenue streams for the original music you produce, you will give yourself a better chance at succeeding in forging a career in music.
This Music Business Fundamentals evening course is a great place to start.
