Mackie MR Series gets a revamp
The Mackie MR Series is the high-end tech company’s affordable range of studio monitors and they have just announced an overhaul promising improved performance.
The Mackie MR Series is a range of powered studio monitors that are aimed squarely at the home studio market as well as content creators and professional multimedia folk.
There are four derivatives in total; the 5 inch MR524, 6.5 inch MR624, and the 8 inch MR824 plus the 10 inch MRS10 powered subwoofer which can be used with any of the aforementioned.
The Mackie MR Series borrows certain tech from their top-end ranges, the HR and XR series, specifically their ‘logarithmic waveguide’ which they say creates a super wide listening sweet spot and better stereo imaging.
This should thus translate into an over higher fidelity and more consistent sound quality.
The MR Series has been very popular for a wide array of users and applications thanks to their solid design and professional sound quality,” commented Jon Rundle, Mackie Product Manager. “These new MR monitors take everything you know and love about MR to the next level.”
With precision transducers and high-performance amplifiers coupled to some extensive tuning by their engineers, Mackie say their revamped MR range will deliver an ‘honest, accurate representation of the mix.’
Features include Acoustic Space Control and HF filters to optimize the speakers to ensure a flat response.
There are three different acoustic space settings that adjust for monitor placements close to walls, in corners, etc. Plus, the high-frequency EQ control allows for further adjustment to ensure an accurate response for your room. Included with each monitor is an acoustic isolation pad that decouples the monitor from the desk or stand for increased performance and accuracy.
