Guns ’n’ Roses keyboardist, Melissa Reese, is a multi-instrumentalist, a music producer, writes film scores and perhaps her most famous vocation – she currently plays keys for one of the biggest hard rock bands ever to exist.
It’s a sign of the times and a happy sign at that when we can see a musician linked to the world of live rock band performances using what is widely (and perhaps incorrectly) regarded as a dance music tool.

About the Akai MPC Live
The Akai MPC Live is a standalone music making instrument that requires NO computer to create music.
The MPC Live features a full colour 7” multi-touch screen, four touch-capacitive Q-Link controls, a clickable master encoder knob and 16 amazingly responsive, velocity and pressure-sensitive RGB pads.
It weighs only 6 pounds so it is aimed at musicians on the move who are looking for something super portable.
Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and packing 16 gigs of on-board storage, the MPC Live features numerous ways to take your beloved sample library and MPC sessions anywhere. Files can be accessed and transferred to the built on-board storage via the built-in SD card slot and/or two-port USB hub. If that’s not enough storage, the MPC Live also features a 2.5” SATA drive connector providing additional storage via installation of a fixed hard drive – SSD or HDD (sold separately). The same USB hub can also be used for MIDI controller connectivity.
