Analog and digital in one synth
The unique crossover sound engine on the Roland JD-Xi means you get the best of both worlds.
If it’s fat, warm analog bass and lead tones you’re after the analog engine delivers and then some.
But if it’s the snarly digital soundscapes you’re after, there’s that too in abundance.
The monophonic analog synth engine on the JD-Xi has saw, triangle, and square waveforms with pulse-width modulation and an analog filter, plus an independent sub-oscillator for massive low-end power.
The two digital synth engines have 128-voice polyphony and stacks of SuperNATURAL synth tones, including pads, strings, electric piano, sound effects, etc.
Gooseneck mic, Vocoder, AutoPitch, and other vocal effects
The JD-Xi comes standard with a gooseneck mic, which can be used with the Vocoder and AutoPitch.
The Vocoder allows one to sing into the mic and control the tone and pitch of your voice on the keyboard with a host of FX presets.
The AutoPitch is excellent for EDM and Pop music producers looking for that exaggerated robotic vocal sound plus with the Auto Note function on the JD-Xi you get the synth to ‘sing’ sounds without even touching the keyboard!
4-track pattern sequencer for live performance and loop building
The JD-Xi includes a highly intuitive pattern sequencer.
Combined with the massive selection of onboard sounds, or any sounds you’ve created yourself, you can compose and perform complete tracks. The 4-track sequencer allows you to create two digital synth parts, an analog synth part, and drums which can be setup as loops.
Both real-time and step recording modes are available, as well as a TR-REC mode that those familiar with Roland’s classic TR-series drum machines will enjoy.
The JD-Xi also has a great collection of preset patterns so if synth design is not what you’re after, this Analog/Digital Crossover Synthesizer is simply a great instrument and music creating device.
