Zungle Panther are sunglasses with built-in speakers
The Zungle Panther sunglasses is the concept thought up by Jason Yang, CEO and Sean Bang, the Chief Marketing Officer.
These nifty sunglasses allow you to listen to music and even make phone calls without an extra ear piece. The design of the Zungle Panther shades is quite trendy too and doesn’t look like a clunky piece of tech.
Jason Yang came up with idea after finding that he was annoyed with having to wear an earpiece and sunglasses when he was out wakeboarding.
The Zungle Panther sunglasses appear to be the solution with its bone conduction technology. The two co-founders managed to raise an incredible $2 million through their Kickstarter page. This puts their campaign in the top one hundred on the crowd funding site.
“We all love extreme sports, and Jason is a huge fan of wakeboarding. He’ll have sunglasses on, but eventually the earphone doesn’t work with the sunglasses, and he felt that it was inconvenient and uncomfortable. So we decided to get rid of the inconvenience.” says Sean Bang
Bone conduction explained….
With bone conduction technology, you hear sound through vibrations through your skull rather than through your ears. This information may not be new, but the concept of placing this tech into something as easy to wear and useful as sunglasses, makes it a great idea.
They worked on the product for a year and then launched the Kickstarter page. They cautiously started out with a $50 000 goal even though they knew that they needed to meet the $1 million mark to make it come to life.
“When we started, we didn’t have enough money to create this product,” Bang says. “We chose Kickstarter because we can target everyone around the globe.”
The Zungle Panther retails for $150. And if you were one of the backers that pledged $89 then you could get yours in a choice of colours.
