Zeds Dead debut video for Blame features Diplo

Zeds Dead have debuted the music video for ‘Blame’ which features Diplo and Elliphant. The music video for their new hit single was directed by Chris-Yee.

Zeds Dead will also be releasing their debut album, ‘Northern Lights’ on their own record label known as Deadbeats.

The Zeds Dead vision comes full circle with the Northern Lights album. This release is the product of two separate musical journeys that have come together. Some of the tracks will reinforce feelings of uncertainty and others will evoke nostalgia in you. The album takes you on a journey that will also have you feeling bright eyed about your future. You could possibly look forward to a satisfying and rewarding listening experience.

The lowdown

 “It’s music that works best at night. The northern lights are something beautiful and vibrant coming out of the night sky. That contrast provided the framework for the album. ‘Blame’ is equally emotive and propulsive, the kind of song that will induce tears of joy in dancing festival goers.” explains Dylan Mamid (one half of Zeds Dead).

 Northern Lights breaks down genre lines and showcases delicate instrumentation. The album also features hip hop artists such as Jadakiss and Styles P.

Two of the tracks, “Loneliness” and “Stardust” were made for dimly lit venues. These were set up as the soundtrack/s for sweaty clubbers in search of love.

They focused on creating an album that would remain timeless instead of something that is hot for the moment. The release is more than just EDM and it would be interesting to see how this album is received and whether or not it does in fact stand the test of time.

“We were trying to make something that wouldn’t become dated, that would last,” says Rapp-Rovan.
