YouTube Connect the live streaming app by Google
YouTube Connect is a new stand alone app by Google that will compete in the live stream dominance race.
Live broadcasting is a hot ticket right now and YouTube Connect will be a way for the company to establish itself as a go-to app for live streaming.
Facebook has already joined the live streaming movement with its Facebook Live addition. In the future, Google is also looking to add features such as tagging, chat, and a news feed with videos from friends and brands that you have subscribed to.
Pre-recorded videos which were filmed, edited, and then uploaded onto sites such as YouTube don’t offer the same type of instantaneous access as live streaming does.
Since its debut in March last year, Periscope has posted more than 100 million broadcasts. Snapchat Live Stories has as many as 100 million users per day. Snapchat has enjoyed some serious growth thanks to their live stories feature. It has proven exciting to have a window open to your life as a user, where you are able express yourself with video to the world wide web at the drop of a hat.
Facebook Live has also proven to be successful since its recent arrival. Some of the live video streamers managed to get as much one hundred thousand viewers per video.
While YouTube remains a premium spot for pre-recorded self broadcasting with a wealth of vloggers and faithful viewers, new developments such as live streaming is keeping them on their toes. It seems clear that a big part of the future of video streaming is in the live and instant nature that viewers get from live streaming.
There is no set release date yet for YouTube Connect but it is said to be scheduled for release in the upcoming months.
