Woody Harrelson to play lead in Timothy Leary TV series
A Timothy Leary TV series called The Most Dangerous Man in America sees Woody Harrelson and Luke Davies team-up.
Harrelson may have been a frontrunner to play Ken Kesey in Gus Van Sant’s adaptation of The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, but after a decade of waiting for the very talented and super chill actor has decided to tackle another LSD legend in the meantime.
Harrelson is slated to play disgraced Harvard psychology professor and advocate of psychedelics Timothy Leary in a new (and limited) miniseries penned by Luke Davies called The Most Dangerous Man in America.
The Timothy Leary TV series is based on the critically acclaimed book, The Most Dangerous Man, by Bill Minutaglio and Steven L. Davis and follows Leary’s escape from prison and subsequent run from the law in 1970.
Aided by radical activist group the Weather Underground, Leary fled the country and, despite President Nixon’s manhunt, was only arrested 28 months later in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1972.

At the moment there’s no network attached to the series, but with this kind of source material, it’s a no brainer. Besides starring as Leary, Harrelson is attached to be executive producer alongside Luke Davies, who is coming off the Hulu limiter series Catch-22.
Harrelson recently starred alongside Kevin Costner in The Highwaymen and also wrapped up Zombieland: Double Tap and Midway, starring as Admiral Chester Nimitz in the upcoming Roland Emmerich-directed WWII film that Lionsgate will release in November.
Woody Harrelson is going to be fantastic in this role in the upcoming Timothy Leary TV series.
