Watch: Trenton and Free Radical Staring At My Phone out now
Trenton And Free Radical Staring At My Phone is out now!
Staring At My Phone is the first single off their forthcoming second album Power Struggle, due for release in early 2018, and comes with a music video directed by critically acclaimed Ryan Kruger.
Staring At My Phone originally took on an acoustic form which was than produced in Germany and then finished off by SA producer/musician, Kevin Ribbans from Mix n Blend and Lazersharkk.
“We are really excited about this new single which touches on a very important topic at the moment. While we love our cell phones and they are amazing tools to connect us if we don’t manage how we use them they can have the opposite effect and disconnect us form real human interactions,” says Trenton.
Radically Free Trenton
Trenton Birch not only sings about valid topics, but is actively involved in a musical revolution.
Though they get their political and social commentary across in a reggae-infused, afro-beat electronically fun way, Trenton walks the talk.
Trenton Birch runs and NPO called Bridges for Music, which as the name suggests, uses music to break down racial, economic and social divides only to rebuild the bridges of an uplifting society.
Their aim is to bridge the gap between Cape Town’s Townships and its city-cantered main stream music resources.
They are currently constructing a music and entrepreneurial school in Langa township for young creatives, with the support of global ambassadors like Skrillex, Luciano and Ritchie Hawtin.
Staring At My Phone is available across all digital platforms and includes remixes from Blaqkongo and Craigie Dodds.
