Waka Flocka Flame says DJ/Producers shouldn’t release albums
Rapper Waka Flocka Flame throws fire at DJ’s and producers, and not the “lit” kind.
In a recent live stream rant, the rapper opened up about his feelings regarding DJ’s and producers releasing albums, and it wasn’t of the supportive nature.
He says:
“Is it me or – goddamn – when a DJ or a producer get famous, they wanna drop an album,” Flocka said, frustrated. “N—a, you’re not a rapper… you’re not an artist. Stick to your fucking profession, man. Fuck!”
What qualifies one to be “an artist?” Isn’t art birthed from creating something? There are uncountable forms of art and what makes rapping more credible than other forms of art, like DJing or producing?
Besides, who does he think makes his verses shine? Producers are the back bone of music.
EDM irony
Although he didn’t attack anyone in particular, naming no names, it is evident that the rapper is upset with people like Calvin Harris and Skrillex who have shot to stardom, exceeding their categories of being mere DJs as they infiltrate the radio and sell out shows.
In short- he is jealous. If you think about it simply, anyone who slights the success of others is jealous.
Here comes the BEST part though- he has dipped more than just a toe into the pool of EDM. Besides the obvious irony of him collaborating with producers like Steve Aoki (Neon Future), he has even RELEASED his own “EDM rap” album called ‘Turn Up God.”
Maybe he should stick to his profession, if he feels that everyone should stay in their lanes?
Check out the rant for yourselves.
It appears that Waka Flocka Flame is intimidated by the fire of others.
